Boobs

Hi girlies and boys...so lovely to see all you boobies having such a brilliant time. So many of you managed to go...fabulous...I'm definately up for it next year...I don't care where it is I'm there. I think it was just a little early in my journey to make the committment despite the fact that I really was already feeling a strong bond with you all. Next year I'm so there!!!!! So glad you all had such a fun time!!!

OMG...you don't want me anywhere near the organising! I'm so disorganised! When I do have to do it for the family I'm totally stressed and bossy...not a good combo! :0)

Words of Welcome

Although my weight was not at a life threatening stage, I had struggled for at least six years to attempt to get my rapid weight gain under control (having been overweight or obese for 10) ...hanging on with my fingernails most of the year just to scrape off a few pounds, only to lose all self control and put them all back on and many more to boot.

In the end, I took the option available to me which I felt was the only thing which had a chance of working for me having lost all faith in my ability to ever successfully lose weight, gastric band surgery. I was very lucky to have the support of my husband and the money to afford the surgery self-pay.

I know that the main cause of my lack of ability to lose weight is psychological and there are many issues which need to be addressed...a band won't solve these, but what it has allowed me to do is to arrest the rapid gains during my out of control phases and manage to lose weight during my 'sane' times. In the meantime, I am working on the head issues which are a constant battle and I am making some headway.

As only my husband knows anything about my surgery, this blog allows me to talk about all of this with people who can understand what it is like to struggle with your weight, what the issues are and how it feels.

By sharing my experiences and thoughts with all of you, it enables me to share in your experiences as a 'friend' of sorts as you can perhaps feel you know a little about me too. Sometimes (most times) we know far more about one another than our real physical friends and family because we tend to be so much more honest and up front about how we feel from the safety of our blogs.
